Blood and Stem Cell Donation

Here’s where you can find out more about blood and stem cell donation.

Blood donation

Just one blood donation can save or improve the lives of up to three people.

Find out if you can become a blood donor on the Scotblood website.

Stem cell donation

If you are general good health, then you may be able to register as a blood stem cell donor and become a lifesaving match for someone with blood cancer or a blood disorder.

If you are aged between 16 - 30 years you can register as a potential donor on the Anthony Nolan stem cell register. Anthony Nolan are particularly keen to recruit more young men to the register, as they're more likely to be chosen to donate. We also need more people from minority ethnic backgrounds to sign up to help give everyone an equal chance of finding a matching donor.

If you are aged between 17 and 55 years you can register as a potential donor on DKMS stem cell register.
