Thank you for registering your decision to opt out of donation

This is confirmation that you have successfully recorded a decision not to donate (opt out).

If this is the first time you have registered your decision, or you are registering a different decision to the one which you have previously registered, then you will receive a letter confirming the details of your registration within 10 working days.

If you do not receive a letter, or if you have further questions about organ and tissue donation, you can call 0300 123 23 23 at any time.

Now tell your family

It's important that they are aware of your donation decision as it helps them if they know what you would want to happen.

Step 1

Find the right time to talk. Perhaps in the car or when having a meal together.

Step 2

Explain that you have registered your decision not to become an organ and tissue donor.

Step 3

Tell them how you came to your decision, and that you wanted to make sure they were aware of it.
